a romantic escape in the lakes

the grounds were fine, perfect for relaxed walks after breakfast. our room upgrade added to the experience, it was special. staff were always helpful, especially at breakfast, ready to assist with any requests. the jacuzzi bath was a highlight, really enhanced our relaxation after exploring.
the vague initial directions to our accommodation caused a moment of confusion upon arrival.

clean lodge retreat lodge fantastic weather amazing bath
booked this for a 21st anniversary and it was amazing. the retreat lodge was very clean and massive. outside seating area was lovely because the weather was fantastic. spa bath was also amazing.
one night definitely wasn't enough in this place. i should have booked for longer.

my room had wonderful, warm decor. i greatly savored the quality of the food, especially at breakfast. the atmosphere was so intimate! it was such a lovely getaway.
The bathroom door in my room could not open fully. It was a minor inconvenience. the two steps up to the toilet were indeed awkward. sleep quality was poor, and i woke up with back ache. it's a shame.

lovely hotel with super friendly team

i had a lovely garden lodge with my partner. it had a spa hot tub and was so warm and cozy. breakfast was gorgeous and because our dog couldn't sit in the restaurant with us, we had a private table in the piano room, which we actually preferred. i would 100% stay again!!!
i found the service to be poor. i tried contacting the hotel twice before my stay and had no responses. when checking in, i was given a clipboard without instruction or pen to fill it in.

the location of the hotel was quite nice. the breakfast was also quite good with a decent selection (i especially liked the croissants).
